Nell Mescal announces details of her new EP, ‘The Closest We’ll Get’, arriving on October 24th via Atlantic Records. Sharing the EP’s title track today, Nell also announces her biggest headline tour to date for November/December.

Accompanied by her band for the entire 12 date run, Nell will perform fresh tracks from the EP and other fan favourites across the UK and Ireland, including Dublin’s Button Factory and London’s Islington Assembly Hall. This winter’s headline tour dates are below and will go on sale on August 29th at 9:30 AM BST.

Produced by Philip Weinrobe (Adrianne Lenker, Billie Marten, Cass McCombs),‘The Closest We’ll Get’ EP showcases an organic new sound developed during recording sessions out in Brooklyn, NY. Drawing on Nell’s folk influences and Weinrobe’s unconventional production style, the EP delivers a raw, natural, and authentic body of work. Last month’s release, Carried Away hinted at a bold new sonic world and today’s title track pushes that vision further, marking the evolution of a heartfelt young songwriter.

“The Closest We’ll Get is a collection of songs that tell a story about two people and how their relationship is in the grey area of friends or lovers” explains Nell. “Each song is a realisation of how sitting in the in-between affected me and in turn affected the ‘friendship.’”

With praise from the likes of i-D, The New York Times, Vogue, NME, Radio 1 and a nomination at the Rolling Stone UK Awards, Nell is making waves with every new release. Her relentless live presence has made her a genuine force on the circuit. She’s graced festivals like Latitude, All Points East, and Electric Picnic, sold out her first US shows earlier this year, while also supporting major acts such as HAIM, Florence & The Machine, Dermot Kennedy, and The Last Dinner Party.

Don’t miss Nell and her band at Leeds & Reading Festivals this weekend and keep your ears peeled for more new music from ‘The Closest We’ll Get EP’ in the coming months.
