MS BANKS

RETURNS WITH NEW SINGLE

‘SILHOUETTE’

FT. EFOSA

South London rap royalty Ms Banks is back and stepping into a new era with fresh confidence and energy, kicking things off with the release of her new Afrobeats-infused single “SILHOUETTE”, available to stream now on all platforms. Listen here.

Collaborating with British-Nigerian musician Efosa, it’s a perfect pairing with Banks’ confident delivery effortlessly gliding between melodic vocals and assertive rap verses, interplaying with Efosa’s sultry vocals picking up the hook of this summer banger.

Ms Banks says: “SILHOUTTE is a feel good summer song. It’s giving attraction, intention and the honeymoon phase but hopefully one that never ends.”

Raised in South London and nurtured in African culture, Ms Banks carries the essence of her heritage in everything she does. Fusing the grit of UK Rap, the warmth of Afrobeats, and the soulfulness of melodic vocals, she’s redefining what it means to be a Black British artist on a global scale, standing alongside names like NSG, Gabzy, Darko and J Hus while forging a lane entirely her own.

The latest single led Banks back home to Nigeria to reconnect with her roots last month. The Lagos homecoming trip saw her perform at the renowned Obi’s house, visiting The Michelle Hope Foundation, a mother-and-daughter shelter to donate resources, and shoot the official music video at the prized-local Tarkwa Bay Beach, which premieres today at 6pm BST here.

Born to Nigerian and Ugandan parents, Ms Banks is known for her razor-sharp lyricism and infectious melodies, and has become a dominant force in the British Rap scene. Her impressive list of career milestones includes touring with global stars Megan The Stallion, Nicki Minaj, and Cardi B as well as Wizkid and Giggs. A dynamic performer, she also took to the stage at the Queen's Jubilee alongside Duran Duran and Nile Rodgers in 2022, further cementing her influence and presence in contemporary music. Her accolades include a spot on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list and winning the PRS Foundation New Artist Award at Music Week’s Women in Music ceremony.

Banks’ latest mixtape, Bank Statement, hit No. 1 on the UK Official Hip-Hop and R&B Charts and iTunes' Hip-Hop chart, and she has amassed over 250 million streams. A versatile collaborator, she has worked with artists such as Stormzy, Tinashe and Little Mix and has received support from Clash, Music Week, BBC, Red Bull, Grazia, and Evening Standard.

For Banks, it’s more than just music. It’s about impact. It’s about telling stories that need to be heard, shedding light on perspectives often overlooked, and breaking down taboos. Banks wants every listener to feel seen and to know that embracing your whole self, your strength, your vulnerability and your truth is the ultimate power.
