2025 has seen Blair release a trio of poignant, heartfelt singles. Beginning with Butterflies, an unflinching ballad touching on the topic of everlasting love. Their most empowered, heartfelt work to date. Wouldn’t Be Right, an ebullient anthem about finding ways to smile through the toughest of times. And Crashing The Car, a simple, honest account of what it means to take a chance on love. With each release Blair has shared more of their story, receiving a rousing response from critics, as well as their ever-expanding fanbase. It will therefore come as wonderful news to many that these songs are all to feature in an upcoming EP, First And Last, releasing 8th October.
On top of this, fans have been treated to the release of the EPs title track, out today. ‘First And Last’ swells and falls on the words of love Blair compellingly proclaims. With a heart-wrenching clarity, Blair delves deep on the feelings of everlasting love, and the unmatchable impact a romantic love can have when entering your life.
Speaking on the new single, Blair explains, “First And Last’ is about the start of forever. The rush of finally finding that person, the straight out of the gate butterflies that hit you out of nowhere in the beginning that go on to stretch out into the fairytale ending. It’s commitment and security and big dreams without having it all yet. One day we’ll get there but right now what we have is everything”
Speaking on the release of their upcoming EP, Blair says, “This EP is a love story. You meet someone who changes everything and you decide to run away together. You drive off into the sunset with them and it makes you think “if I died in this moment what a wonderful way to go out, next to the person you’ve fallen in love with”. You show them your hometown and suddenly the tired familiar spots you had outgrown become magical and sparkling again like you’re experiencing it all for the first time. You move in together, a tiny flat in the sticks of the big city. It’s far from perfect but you hold on to each other through it all. And then the idea of forever kicks in and you’re dreaming of the perfect first dance. You notice in your belly that after all this time you’ve still got butterflies… and they’re not going anywhere”
Blair is set to hit the road in 2025 with a string of exciting festival appearances and headline shows across Ireland, Europe, the US, and the UK. Following a summer appearance at Electric Picnic in Stradbally, Blair will bring their acclaimed live show to major festivals including Reeperbahn (Hamburg) and London Calling at Paradiso (Amsterdam).
In addition to festival slots, Blair will headline intimate venues in the Netherlands, the US, and the UK, with tickets for Los Angeles, Brooklyn, London, Glasgow, Dublin, and Manchester going on sale Friday 29 August at 10am local time. Tickets here.
