Dog Race release new EP "Return The Day" and share video for new song "40 Winks To Wyoming" | Produced by Ali Chant (Perfume Genius, PJ Harvey, Dry Cleaning)

Bedford and London's gothic five-piece Dog Race today release their much-anticipated debut EP "Return The Day" on Fascination Street Records. In celebration they also share a new video for an EP highlight, "40 Winks To Wyoming".

The band's vocalist Katie Healy had the following to say about the themes behind the EP:

"A soundscape born from sleepless nights, intrusive thoughts, and the quiet war between the mind and the world around me. Each track pulls at the threads of cultish beliefs and everyday expectations, exposing the weight they place on someone already battling inner turmoil."

Landing hot on the heels of recent shows at The Great Escape and Dot To Dot, "Return The Day" is a five song document from the band that drags you deep into the fog of burnout, co-dependency, and emotional stasis. Across its runtime the band unspools the slow horror of fading joy and fractured identity, where insomnia bleeds into daylight and personal growth is sacrificed to keep others comfortable.

Following the icy operatic swell of "The Leader" and the stark theatrics of "It’s The Squeeze" – which earned praise from BBC Radio 6, landed them in 2025's NME100, and left Anthony Fantano in awe, placing "It’s The Squeeze" at #11 in his Best Singles of 2024 – the EP pushes further into the dark. Operatic vocals drift through modulated guitars and synths that crackle with unease. Produced by Ali Chant and released via Fascination Street Records, "Return The Day" captures a band fully embracing psychological unrest and emotional paralysis.

Dog Race may take their time, but they strike hard. This EP is proof of that - cinematic, unnerving, and uncomfortably honest.
