FEEDER - Kick Off Blackpool Live with The Futureheads, A and Balancing Act - Next Friday, 24th July

BLACKPOOL LIVE PRESENTS…

FEEDER

WITH SPECIAL GUESTS

THE FUTUREHEADS + A + BALANCING ACT

FRIDAY 24 JULY

FEEDER will be kicking-off this Summer’s Blackpool Live shows with an emphatic headline show on the North-west coast.

Presented by Scruff of the Neck, this brand new live music series will be bringing some of the nation’s best loved alternative acts to Blackpool’s iconic Winter Gardens.

Leading the way for the series are Welsh alternative rock titans FEEDER who will play the first Blackpool Live date on Friday 24 July. Support will come from Sunderland’s finest The Futureheads, plus indie risers A and Balancing Act.

Since they started releasing records more than thirty years ago, Feeder have never been far from the charts or strangers to the stage. Having sold over 7m records, they’ve played all over the world, bringing their anthemic rock music to fans old and new, always exhilarating, always celebratory. With a back-catalogue teeming with timeless hits including "Buck Rogers", “Just The Way I’m Feeling”, “Just A Day”, “Feeling A Moment”, “Seven Days In The Sun” and more, prepare for mass singalongs aplenty when they headline Blackpool Live this July.

In chief support are highly influential NE post-punk and art-rock band The Futureheads. Bursting onto the indie scene in 2004 with their breakthrough, self-titled debut, it featured the massive hit "Decent Days and Nights" and a widely celebrated cover of Kate Bush's "Hounds of Love". Ratcheting up a succession of acclaimed albums ever since, the band have become famed for their razor-sharp, angular guitar work, four-part vocal harmonies, and blistering pop-punk energy. Catch them bringing it to Blackpool in spades this Summer.

Earlier in the day, don’t miss a vital opportunity to catch next-big-things A and Balancing Act, as they open proceedings with a bang.

Blackpool Live brings together an exceptional programme of live music at the iconic Winter Gardens, pairing some of the UK's most celebrated guitar bands with one of Britain's best-known seaside destinations. Following in the footsteps of Jimi Hendrix, The Stone Roses and many more iconic bands, the highest calibre of artists will return to this legendary venue.

Across seven major headline events with a combined 17,500 capacity, more than 27 artists will perform at the Winter Gardens during the inaugural Blackpool Live season.

Amongst the other acts announced so far are The Fratellis, The Enemy, Cast, Doves, The Pigeon Detectives and Happy Mondays, alongside stellar supporting sets from The Twang, The Lilacs, The Cheap Thrills, We Are Scientists, Alex Spencer, Shambolics, Sleeper, Echobelly, Pastel, The Slow Readers Club, IST IST, Bank Holiday, The Rifles, M60, ALRIGHT, Inspiral Carpets and Common Goldfish. It's a programme designed to appeal to lifelong music fans while championing the next wave of emerging artists.

Catch Feeder, with special guests The Futureheads, A, and Balancing Act at Blackpool Winter Gardens on Friday 24 July.
