SCENIUS ANNOUNCES UK TOUR WITH MIDGE

URE AND NEW REMIX

A single email has landed Scenius a UK tour with legendary Midge Ure, kicking off on May 8.

The 21-date run will take in cities across the UK, including iconic venues like SEC Armadillo, Bradford Live and Usher Hall. It marks a major step up for Scenius who’ve been building momentum on their own terms.

This opportunity came from an unexpected move. Rather than waiting to be asked, the band went straight to the source, emailing the tour team and quickly securing a support slot on the full run.

“We’re incredibly honoured to be part of this tour,” Scenius says. “Midge Ure’s work has had a lasting impact on generations of artists, including ourselves. To share the stage with him is both humbling and exciting. We can’t wait to connect with audiences across the country.”

The French-English outfit will head into the tour with new material in motion. On May 1st, just a week before the first show, they will release Five-Arm Crystal (Sixth-Arm Mix), a darker, more driving rework of an earlier track, built around a heavy synth bassline and club-focused energy.

That sense of reinvention carries through to their live shows too, where tracks are allowed to evolve rather than being replicated note-for-note. It’s an approach that’s already been winning over audiences, including a recent standout performance supporting The Mission.

Formed by Steve Whitfield and Fabrice Nau, Scenius have been creating their own sound within the alternative electronic space. Merging old and new technologies, they prioritise warmth, texture and human feel over soulless perfection, a sensibility shaped in part by Whitfield’s past work with The Cure and Jah Wobble.

On a bill led by Midge Ure, best known for his work with Ultravox and as a defining name in British synth-pop and new wave, the tour brings together two different generations of electronic music.

With Scenius opening each night, the pairing offers a natural link between eras, placing a rising act finding their footing alongside one of the genre’s most enduring names.
