NEWTON FAULKNER PARTNERS WITH TEENAGE CANCER TRUST FOR ALBUM RELEASE AND CHARITY CAMPAIGN

INSTORE SHOWS & SIGNINGS // SEPTEMBER

UK & IRELAND TOUR // OCTOBER & NOVEMBER

Double platinum artist Newton Faulkner has released his highly anticipated eighth album, Octopus, and the final single from the album, Better For Me, via Cooking Vinyl alongside limited edition ‘bootleg’ CDs raising vital funds for young cancer patients.

The partnership between Faulkner and Teenage Cancer Trust has been a cornerstone of the Octopus campaign, featuring limited edition stamped "bootleg" CDs of the album plus exclusive stripped-back tracks with all proceeds supporting the charity’s vital work to provide specialised care and support for young people aged 13-24 with cancer.

Better For Me, co-created with producer Justin, showcases Faulkner at his most collaborative and joyful. The track’s message of unity and cooperation embodies the spirit of working together that defines both his creative process and his charitable endeavours.

“Lyrically, it’s about realising that you might be better off working together rather than against each other,” Faulkner explains, “whether that’s in a relationship or just with people you disagree with is up to the listener.”

This collaborative sprit extends beyond the studio to Faulkner’s partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust, a cause close to his heart that has become integral to the Octopus campaign. The limited edition charity releases represent more than just collectable items – they’re a direct way for fans to support young cancer patients while celebrating Faulkner’s creative renaissance.

Speaking on the partnership, Faulkner says: “Being involved with Teenage Cancer Trust has always meant so much to me. The work they do is truly life-changing and being part of that is something I’ll never forget. I’ve been supporting them my entire career, and to be in a position where I can continue that is incredible”.

Following the bold statements of Alright, Alright, Alright, Hunting Season (feat. Lissie & Los Bitchos), Gravitational and What Took You So Long, Better For Me completes the picture of an artist 20 years into his journey and operating at peak creative power. The track captures the essence of his current artistic phase – one marked by fearless creativity, authentic collaboration and a commitment to making a positive impact beyond music.

The Octopus album represents the culmination of Faulkner's artistic evolution, crafted in the sanctuary of his East London studio and showcasing the full spectrum of his journey from acoustic foundations to bold electronic experimentation. His symbolic break from the past – cutting off his iconic dreadlocks on stage at London Islington Assembly Hall in November 2024 – continues to fuel his most authentic and socially conscious work yet.

Teenage Cancer Trust is the UK's only charity dedicated to improving the lives of young people with cancer, providing world-class care and support in specialised units within NHS hospitals. Their work ensures that young people don't have to face cancer alone, offering age-appropriate care, emotional support and vital services that make a real difference during the most challenging time of their lives.

As part of the new album campaign a series of limited edition CDs and vinyl are available to order across Amazon, HMV, indie retailers and Newton’s store, each edition featuring exclusive one-of-a-kind artwork created especially for this project.

Although only just turned 40, Faulkner’s impressive career spans nearly two decades, beginning with his breakthrough debut album Hand Built By Robots (2007) which reached #1 in the UK charts and achieved double Platinum status. His success continued with Rebuilt By Humans (2009) peaking at #3 and earning Gold certification, followed by his second #1 album Write It On Your Skin (2012). His subsequent albums

were Studio Zoo (2013), Human Love (2015), Hit The Ground Running (2017) and Interference Of Light (2012) released amid the challenging conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic.
