The Eventim Apollo played host to Old Dominion as part of their How Good Is That? tour. While not their first visit to UK shores, this marked their debut as a headline act in their own right—a long-awaited occasion for British fans of the Nashville country group.

The evening kicked off with an explosive performance by Kassi Ashton, a dynamic talent hailing from Missouri. She commanded the stage with the confidence and flair of a seasoned headliner, her fringe flying and boots stomping in rhythm with her powerhouse vocals. Ashton’s set, though brief, was a whirlwind of high-energy singalongs, infectious riffs, and playful banter with the crowd, establishing her as a rising star in the country music scene. Her effortless rapport with the audience created the perfect warm-up for Old Dominion’s arrival.

As the lights dimmed and the opening chords of “Coming Home” echoed through the Apollo, the venue transformed into a massive, euphoric karaoke bar. The sold-out crowd of approximately 4,000 fans erupted in cheers, singing along to every lyric with unbridled enthusiasm. Matthew Ramsey’s warm, bourbon-smooth vocals and magnetic stage presence had the audience completely enthralled. By the time the band launched into “Break Up With Him,” the energy was so intense it felt as though the roof might lift off, with fans belting out the chorus in jubilant unison. This was far more than a concert—it was a communal celebration of joy, connection, and the sheer magic of country music.

Old Dominion delivered a spectacular 20-song set, packed with hits and fan favourites including “Hotel Key,” “No Hard Feelings,” “Snapback,” and “I Was On a Boat That Day.” Brad Tursi’s electrifying guitar solos, combined with the rhythm section’s flawless grooves, created a performance that effortlessly blended laid-back charm with arena-worthy spectacle.

The audience’s response was equally thrilling from start to finish. They swayed to the relaxed groove of “No Hard Feelings,” roared in approval when Ramsey announced it was their biggest European show to date, and maintained unwavering energy throughout the evening. Fans sang along to every word, danced through the set, and even chose two songs themselves, creating a sense of intimacy despite the grandeur of the venue. London had clearly embraced Old Dominion with open arms, turning the night into a jubilant homecoming for Nashville’s modern country kings.

Overall, the night at the Apollo was a masterclass in connecting with fans, delivering heartfelt performances, and celebrating the spirit of country music. Old Dominion’s blend of skill, charisma, and genuine warmth left the audience exhilarated, proving why they are among the genre’s brightest stars today.
