SOPHIE GREY. is taking on the world one song at a time armed with her keytar synth-axe and a propensity for writing, arranging, performing and producing her own modern electro, new wave-inspired music. This summer, she has been taking her “Retro Electro” sound across arenas in Europe, opening for music icon Sting.
Having been impressed with her unique sound, Sophie. has recently had the opportunity to join the iconic musician on stage, performing the iconic Police hit “Spirits in the Material World” on multiple dates of his 3.0 tour. This all comes following the news of Sting supporting future creatives with his gift to the Baltic Arts Centre in Gateshead.
Throughout the tour, Sophie. has been invited to sing and play her keytar alongside Sting, adding her distinctive flair to the classic track. The collaboration showcases her talent on a global stage and potential as a true rising star. One German newspaper said of the performance “her music strongly influenced by retro-electronic sounds, but her outfit also knows how to underline this style well.”
Sophie. has also today unveiled the official music video for “Maybe, Baby”, the lead single off of her recently released EP “Just Another Sonic Monday™”. Out via Cherrytree Music Company, stream here.
The video delivers a visually captivating experience, aligning with the track's dynamic energy and the EP's overarching theme of sonic exploration. The fusion of 80s aesthetics and sharp visuals, truly reflecting her artistic vision.
Sophie. is set to make her debut at the Isle of Wight Festival 2025 next week. Performing on the iconic River Stage on Friday 20th June. The River Stage has previously featured acts such as Andrew Cushin and 86TVs highlighting its role in promoting new and exciting talent. This marks a significant milestone in Sophie.’s career and her first major European festival performance.
A classically-trained pianist and keyboardist who studied piano performance at Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, Sophie. was mentored by songwriter and GRAMMY-award-nominated Dr. Patrice Rushen (“Forget Me Nots”). SOPHIE also honed her engineering and production skills growing up between Kansas City and Los Angeles where she worked at the renowned Village Recorder Studios.
When not writing and recording her own songs, SOPHIE is a sought-after live and session musician. Most recently, she has been touring with America’s Got Talent’s Lily Meola playing piano, keyboards and singing backing vocals. SOPHIE has also recently appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America accompanying GRAMMY-award, multi-platinum artist Shaggy on the keyboards. She’ll be ouring across the UK and Continental Europe this summer.
