Following a bold debut this summer that brought The Cure, Gorillaz and Moby to one of Europe's most historic cities, PHILLGOOD has announced Robbie Williams as the first headliner for its second edition, taking place from 16-18 July 2027 at the Rowing Canal in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
One of British pop's greatest showmen, Robbie Williams will headline the opening night on Friday 16th July, marking the first name in another major international line-up from Bulgaria’s newest major festival.
Across a career spanning more than three decades, Williams has sold tens of millions of records worldwide and collected a record 18 BRIT Awards. His latest album, 'BRITPOP', became his 16th UK Number One album, taking him past The Beatles to become the solo artist with the most Number One albums in Official UK Chart history. His PHILLGOOD headline show on Friday 16 July 2027 will open the festival's second edition, with many more artists still to be announced.
PHILLGOOD made its debut in July 2026 with an ambitious three-day programme bringing together more than 35 artists. The Cure, Gorillaz and Moby led the inaugural bill, joined by an impressive line-up spanning Wolf Alice, Kneecap, Suede, Sleaford Mods, Thievery Corporation, Daniel Avery, HAAi, Acid Arab, Kelly Lee Owens and more. The result brought thousands of music fans to Plovdiv, with more than a quarter of the festival audience travelling from outside Bulgaria. Alongside the sister festival Hills of Rock, the events by promoter Fest Team attracted more than 60,000 visitors to Plovdiv across two weeks of live music.
For UK festival-goers looking beyond the established European circuit in 2027, the setting is a major part of PHILLGOOD's appeal. Widely recognised as the oldest continuously inhabited city in Europe, Plovdiv's history stretches back thousands of years, with layers of Thracian, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman heritage woven into the modern city. A trip to Plovdiv today combines ancient architecture with a thriving contemporary arts, food and nightlife scene.
At its heart is the spectacular Ancient Theatre of Philippopolis, one of the best-preserved ancient theatres in the world and a working open-air venue for music, opera and performance. Built in the first century AD, the theatre has become one of the city's defining cultural landmarks. That relationship between music, culture and thousands of years of history makes PHILLGOOD stand apart from other European festivals, whilst offering the opportunity to discover a relatively under-explored city-break destination. For its second edition, PHILLGOOD will once again bring that experience to the city's Rowing Canal, with Robbie Williams the first major name revealed.
