Following sold-out shows in London and Manchester earlier this year, Sam Shackleton has announced an extensive UK tour for December. Tickets for all shows go on sale at 10am on Friday 24th July, available here.

Widely known for his viral videos and songs such as ‘The Lone Prairie’, ‘The Overgate’, and ‘Rocky Road’ to Dublin, Sam Shackleton has developed a large touring fanbase across the UK and USA. He has become well known for his unique, rowdy, and exciting performance style, from his strong Scottish traditional ballad singing brogue reminiscent of the likes of Luke Kelly, to his masterful interpretations of traditional folk music from Scotland, Ireland, and the USA, which he blends with punk elements alongside his own original songs and deep introspective lyrics.

Whether moving the audience to tears with an old folk ballad such as ‘The Butcher Boy’, or rousing the whole room to sing and dance to his rhythmic clawhammer banjo and whooping harmonica, the Scottish troubadour has been making a name for himself on the global folk scene by consistently selling out headline shows across the UK and the USA.

Sam Shackleton’s music is greatly inspired by the rich inter-connected musical oral traditions of Scotland, Ireland, and the United States. Strongly influenced by the 1960s folk revival, his unique sound is a mix of country, old time, traditional, folk, and blues with a Scottish spirit. He was born in Stirling and raised all over Scotland, from the Borders to the Highlands, and his music is deeply inspired by the oral tradition, musical culture, and landscapes of Scotland.

Sam has had major viral success with his hit singles on Spotify, such as ‘The Lone Prairie’, ‘The Overgate’, and ‘Wild Bill Jones’, and his numerous viral videos on Instagram and TikTok from where he has developed a large, passionate, and dedicated global audience. He was subsequently invited to open major international tours across the world for artists like The Mary Wallopers, Pokey LaFarge, Lukas Nelson, Willi Carlise, and Oliver Anthony. Sam has also built up an impressive headline resume of his own, having sold out all of his own headline shows in the UK.
