A Night to Remember: Roger Daltrey Live at Halifax’s Piece Hall

Step into the glow of late summer dusk as renowned rock legend Roger Daltrey took to the iconic courtyard of Halifax’s Georgian-era Piece Hall on July 30, 2025. Framed by honey-stone walls and under an open sky, the setting couldn’t have been more fitting for a show that paired grand tradition with raw musical fire

Backed by an accomplished nine-piece band and opening with a heartfelt rendition of “Let My Love Open the Door,” Daltrey immediately set the tone for a night that balanced nostalgia with reinvention

The show interwove The Who classics like “Who Are You,” “Substitute,” “Baba O’Riley,” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again” with deep solo cuts and thoughtful reinterpretations of songs by Leo Sayer, Paul Simon, and Creedence Clearwater Revival

Rather than merely rehashing hits, Daltrey breathed new life into his catalogue—choosing stripped-back arrangements, accordion and violin flourishes, and warm storytelling to deliver an evening of transcendent live performance that resonated deeply with his audience

This gallery captures the spirit, energy, and unforgettable moments from a night when an eight-decade career still sounded vibrant—and when a venue steeped in history met the man whose voice has traversed generations.
