One of the most exciting new acts from across the pond, Annie DiRusso releases her
brilliant new single ‘Back In Town’. The track is taken from her stunning debut album Super Pedestrian and comes ahead of a run of UK dates this May.
An infectious, indie-pop banger ‘Back In Town’ is Annie DiRusso at her very best – heartfelt, sprinkled with humour and irresistibly catchy. "I wrote the line, 'you told me your friend says Ive got pretty eyes, but you dont tell your friends you fuck me all the time - I was like, I cant write that lyric, because I dont need this to be about sex again, Annie said of the track. But she pushed back on her self-doubt and realised that was a damn good line for one of her
best songs to date. & was just like, I need to consider that maybe what I think is good.
Following US tours with HAIM, Samia, Declan McKenna, and beabadoobee, Annie DiRusso is heading to the UK for the very first time for a run of dates in May 2025. Super Pedestrian, produced by Caleb Wright (Hippocampus, Samia) follows DiRusso’s
critically acclaimed EP God, I Hate This Place, and two straight years on the road. This era of joyful abandon and radical openness suffuses the new album, and the party-stoic mindset unlocked something in her..
“A lot of the album is about this push and pull of acceptance and resistance. It's me learning to surrender and about not being in the passenger seat of your own life (even though I never officially got my driver’s license),” Annie said of her debut album. Super Pedestrian marks a new era for the artist. & feel like a much more balanced, fully formed version of myself. & Im so excited to just show people where Im at and how Im feeling. I want this album to show people its okay to have fun.
Based in Nashville, Annie DiRusso was born in NYC and now wears the influence of both of these cities on her sleeve. Blending buzzing garage rock guitars and high-energy
performances with a pop-infused flair, the magic she creates in her hooks and melodies is apparent in her previously released singles and debut EP.
Annie has made quite a mark on the touring world since the launch of her career amidst the pandemic, supporting artists like HAIM, Samia, Declan McKenna, beabadoobee, Djo, Peach Pit and more as well as selling out headline shows at venues such as New York’s Music Hall of Williamsburg, Nashville’s Basement East and Boston’s The Sinclair. She’s recently released her first ever full-length album, Super Pedestrian. Now set for her first visit to the UK, Annie DiRusso is set to be one of the most talked about artists of 2025.
