Jinjer’s highly anticipated return to London on their European Duel Tour turned the O2 Forum Kentish Town into a cauldron of technical prowess, emotional power, and outright chaos on 31 January 2026. The show, which had long since sold out, saw the venue packed to capacity, and the anticipation was palpable long before Jinjer took the stage.

The crowd was treated to explosive sets from two support acts. The recently reunited Dutch metal band TEXTURES marked their return after their 2017 split, sounding sharp, tight, and full of energy. They blended their signature heaviness with clean, melodic interludes, performing hits from their back catalogue and their 2025 album Genotype. Vocalist De Jongh captivated the audience with his blend of harsh and clean vocals, and the band’s return was well-received by fans who arrived early to catch a glimpse of the Dutch heavyweights.

Next up was the German powerhouse UNPROCESSED, whose 2025 release Angel had garnered significant attention. Their opening chords of ‘Sleeping with Ghosts’ sent fans into a frenzy, with crowd surfers and mosh pits continuing throughout their heavy-hitting set. UNPROCESSED moved effortlessly between epic breakdowns and sleek, atmospheric passages, showcasing their undeniable connection with the audience and influence on the scene.

When the lights dropped and the stage backdrops flickered to life, the room exploded. Vocalist Tatiana Shmayluk entered the stage in a stunning, flowing dress inspired by the band’s Ukrainian roots and heritage. They opened with the title track of their 2025 album, ‘Duel’, setting an energetic, thematic, and relentlessly heavy tone for the night. Tatiana’s vocal prowess was exceptional, with her shifts between clean, high vocals and guttural roars being a highlight. The set was elevated by synchronised visuals that echoed the themes of the songs played.

The set was dominated by tracks from the Duel album, with highlights including fan favourites from across their back catalogue. Hits like ‘Pisces’, ‘Vortex’, ‘Teacher Teacher’, and ‘I Speak Astronomy’ sparked deafening roars and a venue-wide sing-along. The most recent album tracks, ‘Rogue’—examining themes of corruption and blind obedience—and ‘Someone’s Daughter’—introduced with a shout-out to all the women in the venue—elicited huge responses. The encore closer, ‘Sit Stay, Roll Over’, left the crowd breathless and buzzing with one last blast of unhinged energy.

Jinjer’s catalogue has always balanced brutality with emotion, and technicality with accessibility, and this was on full display all night. Their blend of groove, progressive metal, and metalcore ignited into something far more explosive and alive onstage. The visual production was exceptionally crafted, with animated backdrops that added narrative depth without overshadowing the band’s musicianship. The set felt not just performed, but constructed—a fusion of sound, motion, and message.

This return to London wasn’t just a concert—it was a statement. The band’s themes of defiance, injustice, and resilience hit harder than ever, considering their home country is still suffering under war. However, despite the heaviness, there was utter joy in the room—in the music, the community, and in witnessing a band performing at the peak of their powers. Jinjer has carved out a place as one of modern metal’s most progressive acts, and based on this performance, their rise is far from over. Their connection with the fans is clear, and it’s an absolute privilege to witness them change the face of popular metal music.
