Night six of the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod saw a packed crowd gather under the big top for a celebration of pop, soul, and showmanship—headlined by none other than Essex’s own cheeky chappy, Olly Murs, bringing his “15 Years of Hits” tour to town.
The evening kicked off with Absnt Mind, a new British boy band blending pop and R&B with heavy influences from the classic UK boyband era, all given a modern Gen Z twist. It wasn’t really my thing, so I’ll just leave that there.
Next up was Lemar, the British soul and R&B singer who rose to fame on Fame Academy back in 2002. His powerful and soulful voice filled the tent, delivering a polished and emotional set that blended his classic hits with newer material. Smooth, heartfelt, and charismatic—Lemar reminded everyone why he’s still a crowd favourite after two decades in the industry.
But of course, the main event was Olly Murs, who bounded onto the stage with his signature energy and charm. From the very first beat, he had the crowd in the palm of his hand. He’s every bit the entertainer—bounding across the stage, joking with fans, and delivering hit after hit with infectious enthusiasm.
The setlist was a celebration of his 15-year career, including fan favourites like “Troublemaker”, “Heart Skips a Beat”, and the deeply emotional “Dear Darling”—his moving tribute to Caroline Flack. His vocals were strong, his dance moves slick, and the stage presence undeniable. He barely stood still for a moment, proving he’s an entertainer in the truest sense of the word.
The crowd absolutely adored him—singing along to every word, dancing, and feeding off his boundless energy. This wasn’t just a concert; it was a feel-good celebration of pop music, connection, and joy.
Olly Murs' “15 Years of Hits” tour is everything you’d hope for: fun, energetic, emotional, and bursting with hits. A truly unforgettable night in Llangollen.
