Multi-million selling global star Rick Astley is heading back to Halifax next year to kick off the summer of live shows at The Piece Hall.
One of the UK’s most loved pop stars Rick will headline Live at The Piece Hall on Friday May 28 marking a welcome return after he last headlined a sold-out show at the venue in 2024.
His 2027 show will mark the opening of what is set to be another packed summer of live music in the stunning courtyard setting.

Rick Astley’s story is a remarkable career of two chapters. Way back in 1987, he became an unlikely global phenomenon as his era-defining smash Never Gonna Give You Up established him as an international chart-topping, BRIT Award winning global star – a status heightened by further hits such as Whenever You Need Somebody and Together Forever.
His debut album, Whenever You Need Somebody, sold 15.2m copies worldwide and made him a household name. But then he stepped away from the spotlight, seemingly leaving that chapter of his life firmly in the past.
Rick’s second chapter then started when he celebrated his half-century by returning to the top of the charts with 2016’s 50. The somehow still boyish singer, songwriter and producer has stayed at the top of his game ever since, leading to collaborations with everyone from Foo Fighters to Blossoms, a double bill of festival sets at Glastonbury, and a No.2 chart position for his 2023 album Are We There Yet?. Rick has gone on to release eight studio albums, selling more than 40 million records worldwide, and has played and toured globally multiple times.
This year has seen Rick enjoy a major UK tour which he will cap off with a one-off Swinging Christmas concert at the iconic Royal Albert Hall in December.

Rick Astley is the latest artist announced for Live at The Piece Hall 2027 which will also see headliner shows from The Saw Doctors, Kaiser Chiefs, Alfie Boe, Ronan Keating, Jack Savoretti and James Morrison as well as three nights with Simply Red.
