BUTTERFLIES TOUR

Scottish singer-songwriter Blair Davie (they/them) has today released their hauntingly beautiful new single, Butterflies via Giant Music. Listen here. Watch here.

An unflinching ballad touching on the topic of everlasting love, Blair Davie’s Butterflies is a powerful statement. Written about overcoming the challenges of love, and in-doing so reaching something more, Butterflies is open, touching and personal - all attributes Blair is quickly becoming beloved for.

Speaking on the track, Blair says “Butterflies is about that magic kind of love that outlasts the honeymoon phase and sticks around past your first fallouts and challenges. It’s the realization that you’ve found your forever person. These feelings you have are never going away. No matter what life throws at you, no matter what clothes they wear or how they cut their hair. Because you’ve found someone that you love for exactly who they are and all you can do is hold onto them and celebrate it.”

Coincidentally, Blair has a tattoo of a butterfly, which after the initial idea, sparked the direction the song would take. Honest and confessional, Butterflies sees Blair explore a complex yet relatable feeling with assured skill. The talent on display from Blair has not gone unnoticed, with them receiving Amazon Music’s UK Rising Star Award, alongside an Ivor Novello Award nomination, both last year at aged just 23. With their first release of this year, Blair highlights the growth they’ve undergone both in and outside of music.

Alongside the release of the single, Blair has recently announced the Butterflies Tour, their biggest run of shows to date. Starting in London, the UK leg of the tour saw Blair play a show at Strongroom on 7th May and The Grace, supporting Jasmine Thompson on 13th May. The tour continues at The Black Lion in Brighton on 15th May. This is followed by performances at Nouveau Casino for Oberkampf Music Festival in Paris on 22nd May, Theatre Twee Hondjes Limelight Sessions in The Netherlands on 23rd May and Haldern Pop Bar in Germany on 25th May.

Blair will then play a run of shows in their native Scotland, starting at Skye Bridge Studios on 3rd June, Old Bridge Inn on 4th June, Tolbooth on 5th June, Aberdeen Cellar on 6th June and Perth Festival of the Arts on 7th June. The final show on the Butterflies Tour is in The Netherlands supporting The Paper Kites at Live at Amsterdamse Bostheater on 21st July.

After introducing themselves with a flurry of exciting singles, including the highly-praised ‘Stairs’, ‘Platform 10’, and ‘Him, Hymn’, London-based Scottish born and raised singer-songwriter Blair Davie has been tipped as one of the most anticipated new artists on the rise right now. As a seasoned performer who has been writing music and fronting bands since they were a teenager, Blair’s rise can be pinpointed to the strength of their songwriting, which feels more honest than others in their field.

Blair has amassed 32K followers (across Instagram and TikTok), been officially playlisted on Spotify, toured the UK and Europe with the likes of JP Cooper, Emile Sande, Sam Fischer and Fatherson, played Great Escape, Live at Leeds, Belladrum and Sziget festivals, was the face of Zermatt Unplugged festival and sold out both London’s Laylow and Slaughtered Lamb.
