SYDNEY ROSE JOINS FORCES WITH TOM ODELL FOR

NEW SINGLE “OVER” OUT NOW

Following a breakout year with her viral hit “We Hug Now,” singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Sydney Rose kicks off 2026 with a brand-new single “Over” featuring award-winning singer-songwriter Tom Odell out now via Mercury Records/Island EMI Label Group.

Once again, the track places her vulnerable honesty front-and-center. The verses play out like confessions, and Sydney’s delivery barely breaks a whisper. Instead, her murmured words rest uneasily on top of creaky acoustic guitar chords. The tempo increases at the pace of a quickened heartbeat, and her breezy high register carries the hook, “Set myself up for disaster, wishing now that I was plastered, there’s a show in front of me, but you’re all that I can see.” Tom’s harmonies give way to another crescendo uplifted by cinematic strings. The final words, “It’s over,” echo in the distance and instantly evoke raw emotion.

About the collaboration, Sydney commented “Words can’t really describe in full how special it is to have Tom on my song. Like every sad teenage girl, I was infatuated with Tom’s writing and songs. I have always been inspired by what he’s created and it’s definitely had an influence on my own music. So to have him be on such an honest song of mine is a dream. There isn’t anyone else out there who could’ve fit this song better than him.”

Fresh off a sold-out headline run across Europe and the US, Sydney has been performing ‘Over’ live on tour and teasing the collaboration to rapturous fan response, with it quickly becoming a standout moment in her sets. This single also follows her cover of Charli XCX’s ’Sympathy Is A Knife’ featuring Medium Build.

It’s been a breakthrough period for Sydney; she’s just wrapped her biggest year to date, including two sold-out Omeara shows and a sold-out Islington Assembly Hall, and is now gearing up for an exciting year ahead with an Australia tour in March, new collaborations, and a larger project on the horizon. Her unfiltered storytelling and emotional honesty have earned her co-signs from Olivia Rodrigo and Addison Grace (who invited her out on tour), and she’s shared the stage with Noah Kahan at BST Hyde Park this summer, alongside Gracie Abrams, FINNEAS, and Gigi Perez.

Last year, Sydney broke into the UK Top 50 with her single ‘We Hug Now’, taken from her EP I Know What I Want which came out earlier last year. Written in just a few hours at the piano, the track’s raw reflection on lost friendship struck a nerve with listeners worldwide. Growing up in the suburbs of Atlanta, Sydney cites influences including Phoebe Bridgers, Bon Iver, Daughter, Conan Gray, and Cavetown — all evident in her quietly powerful, emotionally direct songwriting. Stay tuned for much more to come from Sydney in 2026...
