Truck Festival 2025: The UK’s Most Warped Village Fête Returns This July

Truck Festival is back—and it's just over a month away. Described on its official website as “the UK’s most warped village fête,” this much-loved event takes place in the picturesque village of Steventon, nestled in the triangle formed by Abingdon, Wantage, and Didcot in rural Oxfordshire.

Founded with the aim of remaining fiercely independent, Truck has grown in stature while holding on to its core values: community, good music, and a unique, down-to-earth atmosphere. Despite what many believe, the name Truck doesn’t stem from its early use of flatbed trucks as makeshift stages. Instead, it comes from a CD compilation called Ten Trucking Greats—a personal favourite of the organisers and a nod to the soundtrack of the cult movie Convoy.

Fast forward to 2025, and the festival still takes place on its original site—Hill Farm—a location that has become synonymous with the event’s rustic charm. Although the festival has grown steadily over the years, it remains intentionally capped in size, preserving its friendly, intimate vibe. Locally produced food, independent traders, and a strong community spirit are all part of what makes Truck so unique.

This year, the festival kicks off on Thursday 24th July with a stellar opening night featuring Blossoms, Swim Deep, and The Lathums, with even more acts yet to be announced. The excitement continues over the weekend on Truck’s Main Stage, which will play host to major names including Nothing But Thieves, The Courteeners, and Kasabian, alongside rising stars like CMAT, The Last Dinner Party, and Wunderhorse.

But Truck is about much more than just the main stage. The Market Stage offers a wide-ranging lineup, with performances from energetic indie rockers Sports Team, genre-defying indie/hip-hop band hard life, and talented singer-songwriter Alfie Templeman. If you’re into heavier sounds, head over to The Nest, home to punk and guitar-driven acts such as The Lambrini Girls, Courting, and indie legends The Futureheads.

For something completely different, explore The Rockin’ Horse stage, where surprises like Shaun Williamson’s Barrioke and the quirky cabaret of Plucking Different add a dose of the unexpected. If discovering new music is your thing, The V&V Stage is where emerging talent takes centre stage, with performances from Danny Mellin, The Dreaming Spires, and The Unbelievable Truth.

Truck isn’t just about music either. It’s a full-spectrum festival experience with comedy, workshops, and alternative performances scattered throughout the site. For families, the Little Truckers area provides a safe, fun space packed with arts, crafts, storytelling sessions, and interactive workshops. There's even a dedicated family camping area, making it easier for parents and kids to enjoy the weekend together in comfort and style.

Truck Festival runs from Thursday 24th July to Sunday 27th July 2025, set against the lush backdrop of Steventon’s countryside. With its mix of high-profile headliners, grassroots talent, quirky sideshows, and a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere, Truck truly lives up to its reputation as the UK’s most charmingly chaotic village fête. If you’ve never been, now’s the time to get involved.
