21-year-old singer-songwriter Will Parker returns with his resilient new single ‘Be Back Tomorrow’ - a stunning follow-up to his debut releases ‘Mindless State’ & ‘Nobody Can Know’, continuing the emergence of an extremely exciting new UK voice and marks the arrival of his debut EP Same Old Paradise - out August 14th on Capitol Records UK.
‘Be Back Tomorrow’ shows a more vulnerable side of Parker. Differing in sound to his first two singles, offering up hints of Sam Fender & Springsteen, it is equally as powerful and evocative. After opening with bright, anthemic guitars, the track moves into more reflective territory as Will sings about “poison” and feeling “numb”. It is, he explains, about the crutches we use to get through difficult times, proving that the 21-year-old writes with emotional wisdom way beyond his years.
“I wrote this song about my first year of uni”, Will explains. “Specifically the daily repeat of going to the same place physically and mentally, knowing my coping mechanisms weren’t helping and masking some issues I had.”
Signed to Capitol Records UK, Parker has quickly built momentum. Following his emergence this year, Will received his first ever spins on BBC Radio 1 via Jess Iszatt’s Introducing show. Further support, alongside playlisting across more than 40 regional stations, earning endorsements from Spotify and Amazon Music, as well as local press support, has established him as one of the standout independent debuts of recent months, introducing an artist defined by raw honesty, emotional depth and a deep connection to his roots.
Will’s debut EP Same Old Paradise is a deeply personal and evocative body of work rooted in identity, home and the emotional complexities of growing up in a small industrial town. Inspired by his experiences in Scunthorpe, the EP captures both Parker’s affection for his hometown and his desire to push beyond its limitations, with each track exploring a different facet of that journey.
‘Mindless State’ serves as a rallying cry against complacency, inspired by the numbing routine of working on a building site and the fear of letting ambition fade away, while ‘Nobody Can Know’ serves as a love letter to his hometown, capturing the pride, resilience and identity of a working-class community shaped by generations of steelmaking, while reflecting Parker’s own experiences growing up in Scunthorpe.
Today’s new single ‘Be Back Tomorrow’ explores the emotional crutches people rely on during difficult times, while elsewhere the soaring ‘Little Man’ was written as a heartfelt message of support for his younger brother. Tracks like ‘Some Kind of Love’ and ‘Wool’ further showcase Parker’s gift for raw storytelling.
Will also sold out his debut hometown headline show at The Beckwood in Scunthorpe earlier this year, as well as taking on his first support shows with Seb Lowe & Andrew Cushin. Today he announces a further two special September headline shows - Sep 29th at Scunthorpe, Cafe Independent & Sep 30th at Manchester, Deaf Institute (The Lodge) - tickets here.
Raised in Scunthorpe, Parker brings a rare authenticity to his music, shaped by small-town life and real-world experience. Before stepping into the spotlight, he was working on a building site alongside his dad - where his voice first caught widespread attention online. A viral TikTok clip, showing him singing on the job, revealed a talent impossible to ignore: raw, soulful, and instantly captivating.
Though this marks only his third release and debut EP, Parker has been honing his craft for years, from local theatre groups to busking in pubs with friends, and later collaborating with musicians and producers who share his ambition.
These experiences have culminated in debut songs that feel both personal, yet widely relatable.
