Alt trailblazer Cassyette has today released the deluxe version of her debut album titled

‘This World Still Fucking Sucks’,

alongside a brand-new single

‘Phantom Limb’,

out now via 23 Recordings.

Following the release of her critically acclaimed UK top 40 debut album ‘This World Fucking Sucks’ last year, Cassyette has today shared the deluxe version ‘This World Still Fucking Sucks’. The 19-track deluxe features the haunting new single ‘Phantom Limb’, in addition to the Lady Gaga approved cover of ‘Disease’, a stripped version of fan favourite ‘When She Told Me’ and an extended version of ‘Sex Metal’, a nod to her recently launched club night and the multifaceted artist that is Cassyette. These new additions are the perfect bridge between her debut and this exciting new era for Cassyette.

Speaking about ‘Phantom Limb’ and the deluxe album, Cassyette said: “Phantom limb syndrome is a chronic condition that causes people to feel sensations in a missing limb. Someone I know had the condition and we talked about how the body holds onto pain and can get so accustomed to particular feelings, whether that’s mental or physical to the point where the catalyst is no longer there but it still feels so present.

Phantom limb is about what it’s like to leave someone toxic that never loved you back. Being out of the toxic situation yet my body was holding onto residual feelings and emotional pain for long after.

I felt like I had to relearn my entire existence. ‘This World Still Fucking Sucks’ is very much that chapter of my life. I am closing that chapter now. Life has changed and something new is bubbling.”

This coming-of-age record is Cassyette’s most personal yet, and an anthology of collected feelings that address the nature of living in today’s society. Cassyette holds nothing back across the album as she tackles a range of complex subject matters from grief to substance abuse, nihilism and more. The album was praised by critics with NME hailing it as “compelling pop-metal fusion” and Kerrang! lauding it as “an album to get you off your knees and roaring loud, whether that’s a roar of pain or joy”. Created alongside long-term collaborators Tylr Rydr, Olly Burden and Olivia Sebastianelli and more, ‘This World Fucking Sucks’ includes previous singles 'Friends In Low Places’, ‘Ipecac’, ‘Over It’ and ‘Why Am I Like This?’, in addition to new focus track ‘Say My Name’. Sonically, Cassyette once again proved her effortless ability to blend genres whether it was the drum and bass influenced ‘Sex Metal’, guttural screams of ‘When She Told Me’ or the beautiful strings and guitar of ‘Dear Sister’.

To celebrate the release, Cassyette is launching a brand-new club night ‘Degenerette’, a queer/goth club night for the alternative and LGBTQIA+ community. Serving cvnty dance and heavy alternative music, it perfectly embodies the expanding musical world of Cassyette. The launch night is set to take place at Brighton’s Club Revenge on April 19th, with thrilling sets by Cassyette x Filthy Pig, Seven Euro and Zlutz. Limited tickets are available at www.cassyette.co.uk
