ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM:

‘GOODBYE DREAMPOP TROUBADOUR’

OUT 10 OCTOBER 2025

KRAMIES is back with the sublime new single “Hollywood Signs”, the first glimpse of a new album ‘Goodbye Dreampop Troubadour’ - coming this Autumn.

As the summer scurry fades and autumn winds drift eastward, the days grow shorter, the lights dimmer - Kramies makes his timely return. And “Hollywood Signs”, the lead single from an upcoming new LP, is a clear departure in sound for the cult Ohio songwriter.

Three years after his critically acclaimed self-titled LP—which earned multiple Album of the Year accolades and saw Billboard christen him “The Dreampop Troubadour” - in 2025 Kramies begins anew and turns the page to his next chapter with its follow-up.

Operating in a genre of his own devising that he dubbed Folklore Dreampop - a blend of dreamy textures, poetic myth, and spectral beauty - his self-titled debut offered a collection of songs steeped in wonder that found the singer-songwriter drifting deeply through a series of otherworldly realms.

But for his next act, Kramies marks a creative shift from any former labellings with the decisively titled new album: ‘Goodbye Dreampop Troubadour’.

Seeking to expand his creative world into new dimensions, his upcoming work finds him collaborating with Grammy-winning producer Mario McNulty (David Bowie / Prince) to conjure dusky soundscapes shaded with nighttime colors and a nostalgic melancholia. Unlike previous releases that have been scattered with the stardust of luminaries such Jason Lytle (Grandaddy), Patrick Carney (Black Keys), Alma Forrer, Jerry Becker (Train) and more, his new album is a stridently confident solo creation, with Kramies playing 90% of the instruments across the album.

Arriving like a story whispered in twilight: it’s a record that beckons its listener closer with spine-tingling intimacy and takes them to a world unlike any Kramies has conjured before. From the ominous opener “Perfectly Dreadful” with all its twisted complexities, to the majestic higher planes reached by “Social Light”; the weightless multi-harmony wonders of “Kite Ropes” and its elegant partner “Between The Moon”, a stately duet with Allison Lorenzen that draws the album to a close; Kramies creates sonic landscapes to get lost in time and again. With echoes of Mercury Rev to Radiohead, Mazzy Star to Nick Cave, the resultant seven expansive tracks, coalesce into what is perhaps Kramies’ most spellbinding and adventurous work yet.

An album that drifts darkly through painterly scenery, ancient mythology, and sepia-tinted memories that flicker and crackle like old Super-8 films; ‘Goodbye Dreampop Troubadour’ is at once soothing, stirring, and subtly unsettling all at once, and arguably his most complete vision to date.

With a career spanning almost fifteen years and a long string of releases that have earned him extraordinary accolades, Kramies has a knack for eerie and ethereal songwriting that has gained him the attention of NME, Clash, Billboard, NPR and the BBC and much more.

His 2022 self-titled LP made it onto seven “albums of the year” lists, with two of its singles featured in Top 10 radio charts. Under The Radar praised the album as possessing the “ethereal quality of a waking dreamscape”.

An artist’s artist, across his career he has worked with members of The Black Keys, Band Of Horses, and Grandaddy and much of Kramies’ success has come from his ability to be himself and stick to his clear artistic vision. He’s grown even more comfortable with his unique way of working, pushing his craft as an outsider who has firmly forged his own path and earned a cult appeal on both sides of the Atlantic in the process.

Returning with his first collection of songs in over three years, ‘Goodbye Dreampop Troubadour’ fuses hallowed folklore with haunting fantasy, while beating with the kind of heart only humanity can summon. The album will be released by VanGerrett records on 10 October 2025.
