After a record-breaking 2025 and a phenomenal response to its 2026 edition, Wychwood Festival has been crowned the ‘Family Festival Of The Year’ by the 2026 UK Festival Awards.
Fast-becoming the festival for all ages and a welcoming embrace to start the summer, Wychwood Festival has been crowned a feel-good home for fans looking for that authentic festival weekend where fans can come together in an atmosphere that brings the family together in a way no other festival can. Nestled in the stunning backdrop of Cheltenham Racecourse - its combination of era-defining headliners, high-calibre family entertainment for children from toddlers to teenagers and a commitment to a passionate environment where fun and memories rings out has now seen rightful recognition from the festival industry’s most acclaimed body in the UK Festival Awards.
Commenting on the awarding of Family Festival Of The Year by the UK Festival Awards, Festival Director Graeme Merifield says:
“To be recognised by such an esteemed body as the UK Festival Awards is a testament to the hard work and dedication that goes into Wychwood Festival every single year. Wychwood is a festival that started out as a love letter to the local community that surrounds us in Cheltenham and beyond, the fans that turn up at venues and support the grassroots lifeblood that make up the wonderful music scene we find ourselves in. We would not be here without the incredible crew, the amazing volunteers, the brilliant traders, the unbelievable performers and most importantly the dedicated audience that joins us each and every year. This is for you, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone (both old and new friends) to Wychwood in 2026 to celebrate our 20th Edition. We’ll be here ready to show you the very best of times”.
Renowned for its welcoming atmosphere and expert curation across the weekend, Wychwood continues to grow and evolve while staying true to its roots as one of the UK’s most loved boutique festival weekends. 2026 promises to be its most standout edition to date, with its first confirmed headliner Kaiser Chiefs already seeing a record response from fans discovering the UK’s next best festival weekend for all ages.
Speaking about headlining Wychwood Festival 2026, Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson said:
“Really looking forward to playing Wychwood next summer. Any festival that puts us top of the bill must have excellent taste so it bodes well. The summer is when we thrive, we are good at festivals and if you haven’t seen us before it’s a strong recommend. If you have seen us before then we hope to see you”
