Marisa and The Moths Steal the Spotlight at Buckley’s Legendary Tivoli with a Blistering Set
Marisa And The Moths

The Tivoli in Buckley—affectionately known as The Tiv—isn’t just another gigs venue. Dating back to the 1920s, it began life as a theatre and cinema before evolving into one of North Wales’s most iconic grassroots music hubs. With a 500-capacity intimate room, it has hosted legends like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Oasis, Radiohead, The Charlatans—and now, Marisa and The Moths. This storied setting, with its charming Art Deco façade and warm, no-frills atmosphere, simply loves live music—and it showed on June 7.

Though billed as supports, Marisa and The Moths delivered a headline-worthy performance that stole the show. Marisa Rodriguez stood front and centre—her powerful, Evanescence-esque voice both raw and delicate, brimming with charisma and star power. She owned every note, playing tracks from their debut and sophomore albums.

But she wasn’t alone in delivering this performance. Liam James Barnes moved across the stage with boundless energy. Alessio D’Elia, with fluid guitar lines and rockstar flair, kept the music dynamic and bold. Alex Ribchester’s drumming was the driving force, stacking pulse and intensity under each song.

Their setlist was packed with both heartfelt ballads and big anthems, all delivered with emotional intensity and musical flair. The band’s crowd interaction elevated the evening—Marisa encouraged singalongs, laughed with the audience, and made everyone feel part of the “Marisa and The Moths family.”

As the final chords rang out, the applause was loud. The band left the stage not as openers, but as headliners of the night. With every high-energy track, soaring vocal, and emotive refrain, they reaffirmed why this group is a most exciting live act—and why the small-town Tivoli continues to be a destination for performers who want to blow their audiences away.
